getting visa from uk...

Is it possible to get a visa the same day from the Indian High Comm. london?
What time would you recomend getting there?
If i arrive around midday am I pushing my luck to get it sorted the same day?
Last one - I presume all short term tourist visa's are valid for 6 months from date of issue? ( the info on the website isn't too clear).

Been there twice in the last few years and yes you can get your visa the same day, all very easy, but DO NOT TURN UP LATE, and by 'late' I mean anytime within an hour or more of the place closing. They will not let you in and you will waste your day off going there!!!

If I remember right it is open from about 09:00 to about 13:00. I remember taking a day off, getting a brekfast, cathing the train to London, strolling along Aldwych, and guess what? I was the last person to gain entry aboiut an hour and a half at least before the place shut.

It was all well organised inside but I wouldn't want to turn up "late!", even if was early (so to speak!)!

Good luck and take a sandwich for breakfast or risk getting ripped off over the road at the cafe!

They stop issuing 'Q' tickets at 12.00. Maybe the website says that somewhere, but it cost me a trip into central London to find out the hard way
At £1.20 for a pot of tea which gives two cups the open-air place (Italian name, sponzi, spitzy, ponzi? ohh where did my brain cells go?) is pretty good value for West End!
