Getting Tourist Visa from NYC
Hi, I just had a quick question. I recently applied by mail for a tourist Visa to the consulate in New York City, since my state is under its jurisdiction. They've recently outsourced to a company called Travisa, and they have a nifty little online tracking thing to follow your visa status and passport.
My question is, have I gotten the visa? These are the points my passport has made it through: Outsourcing office has received visa application. Passport and supporting documents received, payment processed. Documents prepared to go to Embassy. Documents dispatched from Travisa Outsourcing Office to Consulate. Documents received by Consulate. The documents were received last Tuesday. Will I get a confirmation of getting the Visa before I get my passport mailed back to me, or is this a good indicator that I've gotten it? Thanks! |

Nope, you don't have it yet ... but you will in a couple of days. It is a very streamlined process. Unless there is a reason for you to NOT get one, it is likely that it will come through soon. Have a great trip. LisaG

Hi volunteer38. Sounds like it will be on its way back to you soon. I received mine back a few busines days after the payment cleared my bank. If I remember clearly, they give a disclaimer of XX business days for the process to take. You should be fine. Hope you have a nice trip
