Getting OCI for Minor in India
Hello All!
I'm Indian married to a Swede(pio holder) and we live in Pune, India.We are planning to get an OCI for our 8 month old son who is presently on 1 year x visa.
As per the MHA website, we are to send all the papers to New Delhi and after a month or two check the status of application on the website and when it says GRANTED you go to New Delhi and get the booklet and sticker in the passport.
This New Delhi part is the one that I feel is a bit dodgy. Has anyone done this and how did the process go with regards to:
1. Do you have to book an appointment or do you just show up and it gets done the same day?
2. Does the child have to be there?
3. Do they check all your original certificates over there?
