Question Getting a visa in Thailand?

Hi there,

I'm about to head off to Thailand for a month and then will be heading to India for the first time.
I need to sort my India visa out in Bangkok and wondered if anyone knew of a cheap way to get it?

I know that there's a place on the Khao San Road that will do it for £30. It takes 5 working days. Does this sound like the going rate? Or does anyone know if I can do it cheaper?

Any info would be gratefully received. Thanks.

<edit: I meant £30 not $30>

Thumbs up

Thanks, mpop.

The price I've been quoted sounds reasonable, then. I'll do a bit of shopping around on the Khao San Road and see what sort of deal I can get.

from ksr, go out to rachmoendanklang, take the ac bus 511 toward ekamai bus sta. get off on suk#29 (CHECK THIS soi#!! on any tourist map). walk up the street (its about <1km). get there early morning. process is 4 wd.

be certain to bring 1-2 (?) photocopies and photos. if you are us citizen pay double.

the site has been down for days: http://www.indiaemb.or.th/

always get the visa yourself in bkk save for the lao visa as emb is WAY out of town (ok, korea too, but who the HELL wants to go to that dump of a country!)

Thanks for that. I'm a British citizen - any idea how much that'll be? If it's a lot less than the 2000 baht-ish price I'll pay on Khao San, I'll give it a go.

Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated.

i dont know. i prefer to get my own visa cause every penny/baht/rps count. it also kills time and i get to know the city -for instance i know how to do this and you dont. if you go to agent, you still dont know. so...go to embassy, take notes and you will also be in the know instead of posting for a 411. sabe? i mean i told you how to do it...what better are you doing on filthy ksr that is so important?!
