Getting a Visa in Montreal
Hello all,
People in Quebec can now have their visa done In Montreal instead of having to go all the way to Ottawa or doing it through snail mail. The High Commission of India in Canada has decided to hold special camps in Montreal for visas services to meet the seasonal rush. Weekly camps Will be held until the end of January 2007 and perhaps beyond. These visa Clinics are held on Saturdays and the next dates are: 13th January 2007 20th January 2007 27th January 2007 (Park Extension) Visa Camps are at : Bharat Bhawan 4225 Notre Dame West Montreal, QC H4C 1R4 Telephone: (514) 904-1675 OR The Centre de Loisir du Parc-Extension, Complex William-Hingston (Former Building of Immigration, Government of Quebec) SS-16, 419 St-Roch Montreal, QC Telephone: (514) 277-6471 Applications for Tourist/Entry/Business visas to Canadian Nationals are accepted at Montreal Visa Camp between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. The delivery is made same day/evening. A camp fee of $15.00 CAD is charged in addition to normal visa fees, which brings it up to 77 CAN $. Only cash is accepted in the Montreal Camps, and no other Consular service is provided at the camp, although I believe you have access to forms for special permits to restricted areas. Cheers! |

Similar camps were held in Brampton, Ontario but that has stopped. Now we have to send them in the mail in Toronto unless it's and emergency etc.

Well I went this morning...there were about 90 persons (I was 81th in line LOL)... but it wasnt too long, maybe 1h30... I have to go get the visa at 5pm... It was quite a fast process...no questions or anything, but I noticed it was a good idea to put an hotel in the "References/Places you will stay" in India...I just put a random hotel from Lonely Planet there...while the couple behing me didnt put anything and they were questioned (i.e. where are you going to stay when you arrive etc etc..) I dont think it really mattered...but the process was a good 5-6 seconds faster for me :P
