Question Getting a Visa for Pakistan in New Delhi

Hope this question is admissible for India Mike!

I'm travelling with my partner(Irish passport). Hers is a 6mth multi-entry visa, mine is a 3 mth single entry visa (3mths only because despite being a british citizen my parents were born in Pakistan).

My parents have just told me they'll be in Pakistan in June and so we would like to meet them there and spend some time - maybe 2/3 months - there before returning to India.

So, how easy is it to get a visa for pakistan while travelling in india. And, what are my chances of getting a new Indian visa while in Pakistan.

Hope that makes sense. any advice welcome!

Imran

Hi Imran, you need to get a Letter of Introduction from your home embassy in Delhi. As far as I know (this info is second-hand, and possibly out of date), British embassy charges £50 for this letter, while the Irish embassy doesn't charge anything. Then you'll apply in the Pakistan embassy, and that could take anything between 5-10 days.

To get your Indian visa in Islamabad, you should get to the Diplomatic Enclave early - say 8.30. Walk to the car park which is to the right of the main entrance - here you get your visa appilcation form, drop off your valuables in a locker, and buy your ticket for the bus which will bring you to the Indian embassy. When you get to the embassy, join the queue - it's the busiest embassy in the enclave......

It takes 8 days, and you collect your passport in the afternoon, betwen 2pm and 5pm, when the embassy closes. After that, you can be back in India the next day.

I'm Irish, and this is my experience. I really don't know if it will be the same for yourself, being of Pakistani origin, but I hope that helps!
