Geting an India Visa in the UK if your Australian ?

Hi just a quick couple of questions. First off I am Australian living in the UK (London), I have Right to Abode, but not dual citizenship, i have been here since August, ...so I was wondering
1) Even though I have right to Adode do i have to still apply using the form for Non -Uk residents ( as i have been here less than 12 months)? ...my logic says yes but i thought i would just ask if anyone has been in this situation..
2) I know it takes approx 5 days (maybe longer) to process this type of application, what are the options for collection? Do I have to go back in (pain becuase this is another day off work) or can I get it mailed to me ? I looked on the Consulate web site but couldnt find this info.

If you have right abode and proof of residence in Gt Britain you should be treated the same as a UK citizen and have your visa processed in a couple of days!!
I'm in the same situation here in Holland and am treated as a Dutch citizen!
it doesn't matter how long you've lived somewhere simply that you have right to abode as in not a tourist!!
