General Warning to Non-USA born USA passport holders

just wanted to share with this to whom ever it may apply:
it can take upto 4 months! for you visa to get approved if you are born in a foreign country like china even if you hold a u.s.a. passport! yeah, i had sent in my visa application along with my girfriends to the india embassy on oct 24th, and on the website it says it takes 10 days to process and nothing else, but 2 weeks ago i sensed something is out of order when my mail box remains empty and our non-refundable trip to india that we have been planning for a good half year is due to start in less than 3 weeks! i called and called for 7 days, first holidays, no one answers, then busy lines, hang-ups, to voice mails with no response, and finally one of the operator just said it takes up to 4 months! well, i am leaving on the 28th, and still don't have my passport or visa, so don't let this happen to you...
will

Unhappy

i entirely agree with u. i m an india born US national. its always difficult for me to get visa to my own country india jus becoz i usually go to india on US government work trips and i do not have the "persons of indian origin" card. so whenever i apply for visa for private visits it does take longer.
