from employment visa to tourist visa to business visa...

Situation:

My 5 year employment visa expires on 3rd November. Renewal or extension is only possible in India. So far so good.

Am not interested to continue the employment status with my Indian company. Also am intersted to take a break from work after those 5 years.

What I have in mind:

Go back to home country just before visa expires. Once back to home country apply for 6months tourist visa. Come back and take it easy as well as do all those things for which there where no time to do (tax matters, property registration, socialisation, rest). After 6 months go back to home country and apply for business visa and continue as consultant with external office for the same company or for any other interested.

Question:

Will it be possible to apply with expired employment visa for a tourist visa (I think no issue) or for a business visa (I think critical) back in home country?

Will the embassy/consulate have issues when you come after the second visa is expired (first employment 5 years, then tourist 6 months) and apply for a business visa?

Actually they should not since the tourist visa can not be converted into an other visa in India but the Indian authorities at the embassies/consulates are acting in different ways once they see that you have been already issued an employment visa some time earlier.

I could not find this specific case in the forum...
