I don't believe there are any restrictions with regards to contemporary, vintage pieces, and/or those that are less than one hundred years of age.

I don't know that there are problematic Indian export regulations on these things, but it's your home country's import restrictions which can make trading in these particular items difficult.

India has export duty.

I wouldn't give this a second thought if you are talking about personal purchases.

If you are thinking of starting a business, however...

Exporting chillums in quantity regulations?

Namaste! I am thinking about buying a large quantity of chillums (for example 100) to sell/trade/give to people in California. I am also interested in exporting a lot of Himalaya herbal remedies. Does anyone know what the rules are for doing something like this...I am very ignorant about customs regulations or what could happen at the airport and am having difficulties finding information. Thank you for any help!

You should begin with regulation(s) in US. At least with herbal remedies with Deptt. of Agriculture.

Generally speaking - don't mention these two things together. Most people will draw a few obvious conclusions. So far as India is concerned, there is a restriction against moving any natural product like plants, leaves, bark, flowers etc out of a national park and it will be treated as a criminal offence.

Neat idea , but consider the following.

You cannot claim 100 chillums as personal use, so be prepared to answer that.
It would be advisable if you consider the idea of getting some more legal help on importing herbs [ small quantities for personal consumption is different ]

Please check if the species are on endangered list or something, Indian forest act or check with local forest office .

Copy of the Actual ACT

Yup, i think US regulatory body would be very strict about importing certain forest products from outside .

Going strictly by the law, you just cannot remove anything natural from a sanctuary or national park - endangered or not. Notices outside the park generally very clearly mention that.

Himalaya Drugs grows its herbs in farms. The person has not mentioned any sanctuary or national park that I can deduce from his posting
