Expiring visa

I am flying to Delhi 10.8. and away from India to another country 11.8.

My 6 month Indian visa expires 12.8.

My question is can I fly to India without any problem 10.8, even if my visa is just expiring?

Have you used the visa before? If so, as long as it is multiple-entry you should be fine. You are leaving India before it expires.

Make sure you have proof that you are leaving the next day, i.e. your outgoing airline ticket.

Make certain it is a multiple entry visa in the first place (most are but not all)..

I agree it should technically be alright, what's not expired is not expired, after all. It sounds like another of those questions that I'd call your nearest Indian embassy about though, just for your own peace of mind.

Yippee, now we all think it's alright. But who are you gonna trust?

If I were you I'd really get on a phone to my embassy, it can't be much harder than logging on in some internet cafe, in fact they'll probably provide phones too.

(I'm sorry, I'm not attacking you. I just don't understand modern people and modern life sometimes I guess.)

Mach's a more cheerful type. My motto, nothing's so bad it can't get worse. I don't trust embassy types to know a thing, especially if they are US State Department..

I guess it depends on if you are talking about 10th, 11th, and 12th of August, or if you are talking about the 8th of October, November, and December. Are your dates European, or American?

Yes, I laughed for a moment as the difference baffled my wife when she came here and me when I went to India. I feel confident its European convention and the OP should be okay..

Bhutan
Yet to hear of anyone doing this in Bhutan let us know. Beware of the usual roughly 5 working days time though there may be little business there so..

Thanks Mach for the tip on editing..

It took 5 working days to do in Thimphu. I think usually it takes longer here but my organization was helping me to rush it a little bit
