Entry / X Visa in Colombo Sri Lanka

Hi everyone,

I've referenced this site so many times and got so much useful information, I can't thank you all enough!

I am British national on an tourist visa who got married to my Indian fiance in March. My tourist visa is running out and I am planning a trip to colombo, sri lanka to convert to a 1 year entry visa. I don't want to do this in India because of the hassle described on other posts.

Has anyone done this specific process and would be willing to descirbe it to me?
(I know my sister-in-law did this about 5 years ago, but I've heard that policies have changed.)
Could you give me any details about applying for the entry visa (through marriage) in Sri Lanka that could be helpful?

You'd probably be a lot better off doing it in London.

Not everyone has hassles with the process in India.

Sri Lanka is one of those countries that I would not like to set foot in, due to its government's disgusting policies and inhumane treatment of Sri-Lankan Tamils --- but. if I had visa issues, then I might find my self putting scruples aside

fyi this didn't work out. Embassy at Sri Lanka only offers Indian Entry visa's to Sri Lankans and foreigners who are currently resident in Sri Lanka. Still we had a fantastic holiday.

Now we're going to have to go to Delhi. And go with an OCI through my grandparents. Anyone done that one?
