Umesh, this is an India travel site. You need to seek answers to your questions elsewhere. Btw, your other identical post in another thread has been deleted, as multiple posts are not allowed. |

Any company that asks you to pay them for the "privilege" of working for them would be a fraud.

This is extremely common all over the world. Always check out the bonafides of such deals. Legitimate companies wouldn't charge up front..

Many of these scams are hatches in the country-of-origin i.e for India, it would be some agent in desh; and in South and centro america similar situation... of late the predominant scams are in Northern Africa for EU visas/jobs...
Buyer beware.... |

Every day, to my email id, i do get junk mails which goes like below.
a)UK Lottery-- Congratulations! your email id has won the lottery prize of GBP10000000. To claim, plz mail across to the following email id with your details viz., name, date of birth, photocopy of passport, and GBP400 (towards courier charges inlcuding insurance cover). b) I am personal secretory of the managing director of Lukoil (russian petroleum company), may boss is having trouble with Mr Putin(president of russin), he is been jailed and the government is in the process of confiscating the wealth earned by Lukoil. Please help me in reprofiling the wealth close to GBP 30 Billion, for which you will get 10% of the wealth for the "service" rendered (plus applicable courier charges, dont ask me what it is). And above all, KEEP IT CONFIDENTIAL. c) I am 22 year old girl, virgin, saw your profile (dont know where) and sparked my interest in yours. I am the only survivior of late (some name, i didn't remember the name as names change with every mail), who is a business tycoon and timber merchant in west africa and the richest in our ethnicity. Dacoits, business rivals killed my late father , who left money in a bank, willed in such a way that the money should be given to the daughter when she attains 25 years of age, marries a "good" guy from other part of the world ( being a financial professional, i am unable to understand whether the property can be willed in such a fashion). Therefore, i need your hepl as my fathers business rivals are in the look out to kill me. My request to you is give my your bank details , account number, i will ask the banker here to transfer the money (saying you are my guardian overseas) to your account(USD 5 BILLION), then i will relocate to your country and finally for the service rendered, "I WILL MARRY YOU" and we live happily. Never respond to these mails, as these are all scams run by scamsters. Remember, if a company offering a job in Spain, if it is a genuine organisaiton, there will a lot of procedure it follws viz., two or three rounds interviews, salary package and other benefits, relocation expenses, background verification, what is the role if is offering, and lastly if all goes well, company will apply VISA on your behalf. No organisation asks the money to the applicant for sponsoring VISA and flight tickets. Every organisation if rich enough to spend a small amount for VISA processing. If it cant spend small amount of money towards visa fee, what is the guarantee that the company will pay the salary to its employees And one more suggestion, scamsters will ask you to pay the so called visa expenses by wire transfer/credit card. Never give the credit card details/indulge in transfering money. And above all, as per reserve bank of india guidelines, one can receive funds from abroad, but one cannot transfer funds from india to abroad through wire transfer. If you get any such junk mails, just delete it soon after looking at the subject line. Its a waste of time. |

I have worked a few years for big companies on stuff related to spam emails and the previous post tells all about it . In my experience the 3 types of spam emails mentioned by epicure were sent in millions to many people and many got fooled by it too. Anyways another type of spam emails would be related to passwords. DONT EVER CLICK ON THE LINKS IN THE EMAILS WHICH MENTIONS ABOUT YOUR BANK ACCOUNT. This could be fraud too.

This is not uncommon.
As a general rule if a company wants lots of money up front (usualy well in excess of the general Visa fee) then it is a scam. Avoid these companies. |

Sorry ho hear of your problem. I would point out that although people often listen to their brains, they should make efforts to listen to their guts. The brain can be easily tricked, it can rationalize anything given to it even if it receives false information.
If you listen to your gut and it is telling you something is not quite right even though your brain is saying everything is fine, more often than not your gut is right. |
