Smile dual passort re-entry to India from Nepal

Namaste guys!

I have a question a friend of mine has and I'm praying someone can answer it for us. Is it possible to leave India on an Israeli passport into Nepal, and then re-enter India using a German passport?!
As you probably know, it is no longer possible for Israelis to extend their visa for over six months. I'm presuming it's possible to reenter using the German one, but would really love to know 100% before he heads for the border!
Any help you can give us would be great,
Thanks and happy travelling!

Tourist visas are non-extendible.

Are you saying that Israelis are no longer being issued with a second tourist visa in Nepal?

The situation is such that Israelis have to wait 6 months before getting another visa to India (due to reciprocation of the Indian government with the Israeli way of dealing with Indian migrant workers to Israel), but you can stay only for 5 months in Nepal in one calendar year. A serious problem I learnt about while in Nepal recently.

I guess this is possible, but you have to be careful.

A story... My friend has both an Indian and NZ passport, he lives in NZ but came to India and obviously entered on the Indian passport. After a few months he wanted to go to the USA, and so leaving India presented his NZ passport (NZ passport doesnt need a visa for the USA). The Indian immigration people looked through his passport but didnt find any indian visa, obviously as he had an indian passport. India doesnt really let you have 2 passports, and so he ended up with a whole heap of trouble and didnt get to go to America at all.

So before you try it check that you are allowed to have both passports, and be prepared for some hassle at the border regarding visas.

Tricky

An immigration officer will look for an entry/exit stamps in the german passport. If there is no entry stamp in Nepal implying a direct flight in KTM then one could get into a soup

I had to wait over 10 minutes a few weeks ago (computer terminal down) while the gentleman hunted for that elusive entry stamp as I was preparing to return.

hey guys.....hmmm, yeah, that's what we're worried about, him entering nepal with his israeli passport and then trying to leave with his german one. do any of you know a phone number or website where we can find this out? I can't find anything at all.
I take it it's not possible to enter nepal with his german passport if his india exit stamp is in his israeli passport?!
ooooh, i'm beginning to confuse myself!
thanks for the replies guys, keep the info coming please!

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT TRYING TO ENTER AND EXIT NEPAL WITH DIFFERENT PPs!!!
And anywhere else in the world in principle, with a few exceptions.

There will be serious probs if it is tried, the above posts re the entry/exit stamps being checked are spot on.

Since the Israeli pp is the issue, tell your friend to apply for the Indian visa on the German one. Much better keeping both destinations in mind. Maybe he already has the visa in his Israeli pp and is trying to save himself some work. Well, one can't have one's cake and eat it too, to use a cliche.

There was a time when Germany and Nepal had a reciprocal no-visa agreement, but not sure if this is still true. Tell your friend to check on it.
