Can I still just get a 3 month tourist visa within a day of visiting the HC?
Me and a mate are touring India for 5 weeks, departing on the 2nd November. I'd already assumed she had a visa sorted, but it turns out she didn't (doh).
Mine's a five year one so I don't have to worry about it, however after reading more and more into it, am I correct in thinking that the high comissions in London & Brum no longer do the thing where you can just turn up at 9am and they sort it out for you there and then? We fly out 2 weeks tomorrow, and I would imagine that she needs to sort this out NOWish. IS it the case where we do in fact go to one of the H/C's and get them to post it back? We're in Bristol and last I heard they'd opened a centre in Cardiff....probably the best place? I did try reading through some of the threads in the topic above but it all became a little confusing! Hope somebody has more info, thank you ![]() |

No they don't issue same day visas, and yes your friend needs to get moving PDQ - and preferably today!
It's already too late for your friend to apply by post, she needs to complete her application form straight away online at the VFS website after which she can book an appointment online to submit her application at a VFS Visa Application Centre. Suggest you have a read through the last ten pages or so of the UK Visa sticky on this forum, that will answer most if not all of any other questions you might have.

ahh cool thanks for the reply!
ok so going through the form, we're probably going to do the 'hand in personally' option. One would logically assume Cardiff to be the place to process.. |

Not 100% certain about this. If you live in Bristol do you not have to go to London or Hayes to have your visa processed.
I clicked on the map and Bristol showed London and Hayes. Clicking on Wales showed London, Hayes and Cardiff. http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk/index.aspx
