Can I come back to india on a single ticket?
I have a sixth month indian visa, expiring mid Feb.
I am in india. Can I go back to uk with my return ticket, and come back to India on a single ticket? Is a single ticket likely to prejudice my entry in any way. cheers for answers |

I've entered India on one-way and on the return portion of round-trip tickets with no issues. I have never been asked to produce a return ticket. That said, I've always traveled to India on Business or Employment visas -- not sure if that has any bearing at all.

Are you British? There are very few nationalities that need proof of return travel (eg Pakistani) and British is definitely not one of them.

The only problem I ever had with a single ticket was finding that it cost three times as much as a return! I bought the return and didn't.
It was shame wasting half an air ticket, but it could not be extended past 12 months, and didn't go back for 18. |

Who is to say you can't travel on to any other country in the world?

Now there does seem to be something in the way of a change. Australians and more recently in the Netherlands have been told of such a policy. It was a longstanding policy for Nam. Who knows..

I've been doing returns to here for a few years. The only comment ever was at Heathrow this time. The nosey bat on the check in counter started asking why I only had a single and why did I have so many visas. I could have told her where to go as it's none of her business where I travel and for how long, so long as I have valid documents. I politely gave her some old bullsh!t along the lines she was hoping to hear.
