I went in November and got there at 4am. I was 25th in the queue (in the street). They had a certain amount of visas to give out each day. I reckon if I'd got there at 7am, it would have been borderline whether I would have got it. But that was back in November.

Update
My partner arrived at the Consulate at 6am (this morning) and there were about 15 people in front of him - by 7am there were over 100 behind him! Will give you full update of his experience when he gets back.

the tickets started at 602, mine was 633. it didnt take too long once we were issued tickets to be seen! not half as scary as i thought it would be! im yet to go back to pick my visa up though, not looking forward to more que!! ![]() still at least it wasnt raining this morning!! |

a new passport will be fine, my new one was issued in november and there were no problems. as for other documents, everyone i spoke to in the que had only bought along their passports, visa document and 2 passport photos. that was for a tourist visa only though, for business visas etc im not sure what documents you need, best check www.cgibirmingham.org
OH as well i took along my flight details JUST incase there was a massive que and i missed the quota for the day that should be everything you need and of course a load of patience!! good luck! x |

They would not give my partner a visa in Brimingham yesterday. Because his father was not british!!!!! He had to go to London today. He got there at 5am and was 2nd in the queue. He was processed by 09.30 and has to go back and collect visa's at 10am - fingers crossed.

Hi
Sorry to ask maybe what is a daft question, but...! Can I apply in person at Birmingham for my visa and my wife's as well, or does she have to be there in person for a visa to be issued?! I'm planning on going some time next week....has anybody got an idea what the queues are like at the moment? Many thanks Mondriver |

If it is like Loondon, you have to get as many Q tickets as you have passport.
One ticket per application, not one ticket per person visiting. See jcbrum's next post. Seems I'm wrong about this for Birmingham

I got my Visa from Birmingham last week,no problems as it is the end of the tourist season. Also you can get as many Visas as you want and it's one ticket per person.
