Australian applying for India visa in the UK

Just started to panick a little bit.

I'm leaving the UK on Jan 24th so I need to have my India Visa sorted by then. The VSF website stated there might be issues for people applying for India visa who aren't British. What sort of time frame can I expect to encounter if I go directly to the Visa centre. I'll be going to the one in Manchester tomorrow morning.

Freaking out!!

Look here Processing times

You are definately better off hand delivering your application, much quicker. They will be able to give you a better idea when you hand in your application.

20 days would be a guess, see below, this is dependant on how long you have resided in the UK.

Proof of Status. Proof that the applicant has had resident status in the UK for more than two years. If this is not the case or proof cannot be supplied a supplementary form is required, the processing can take up to 15 days and an additional fee of £11.05 will apply.

To prove residency in the UK for more than two years, applicants need to provide:
- Stamp of Indefinite stay issued over two years ago OR
- Utility bills pertaining to the current month and one dated at least two years back, but not older than 30 months.
Acceptable utility bills are: land line telephone, gas, electric, water, council tax bills, tenancy agreements. Bank statements and "mix and match" utility bills are not acceptable.

Thanks for your response!

I'm hand delivering it to the Manchester office tomorrow. Where do I find this form though? It wasn't in the application. It says minimum of 15 days, but are they just saying that to lower expectations? I bloody hope so or I could be in some trouble...

Cheers mate. The girl at the office said it would take 9 days, despite the website saying 15 minimum. I really hope she is right, or I am in Big trouble!
