Applying for India student visa in Malaysia
Any recent information of recent law regarding obtaining a new student visa in K.L. capital city of Malaysia. I have American passport, and live and study in India. Simply want want to go on a 2 week vacation from India to Malaysia and back to India.

Hope its possible since they don't give tourist visas to non-residents..
Can you not get an extension to your student visa from the local FRO ? See if http://mha.nic.in/pdfs/ForeigD-PwrdlgtFRROs.pdf addresses your student visa issue. You have not indicated how long and for what kind of academic studies your original Student visa was granted.
