I spoke to an English yesterday, who has just returned from Lanka with a 6 month Tourist visa. I don't know if this is policy or if he just got lucky.

My story

This thread helped me so much in my problematic situation, but yet since
I know the indian gov. Change thier rules once in a while, i gotta tell you my
Story and pray for a happy answer.
So my story goes like this:

Im from israel, with an israeli passport. Im traveling india now for a few months already and my visa expires in 29th of February.
At 24th of January i leave to sri Lanka for probably a little more than a month and then i want to head back to India.
So my question is, is it possible to make a new vise to india from sri lanka only a few days after my last visa to india expired?

Thank you in advance!
Idan.

Met 2 other people in Goa this season, who got 6 months tourist visas in Colombo, with no problems.

Hello,

Has anybody had any luck running two consecutive Indian tourist visas together yet? I have to leave India on the 1st of March but would like to re-enter as soon as possible. Please share any experiences! Thanks

This cannot be done and does not happen,

When you apply for your new visa, assuming it is granted, it will cancel the existing one. Usually the existing one is stamped with "cancelled without prejudice" but not always.

If you think about it, there would be no reason to have two valid tourist visas in your passport, although some time back someone on this forum said they had two different types of visa valid at the same time and I recall this was judged to be ok and normall.

I think they might mean back to back visas.
