Applying for an Indian Visa in the UK: Your Questions and Experiences
Hey all, had a email from vfsglobal in regards to my question above #5173... Also mentions scary news about swine flu
Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your query,
Please note that you can book your return ticket once you are in India.
Please note - In view of the spread of the Swine Influenza A (H1N1) all passengers traveling to India will be screened at the International Airports in India on their arrival. This will also involve quarantine and even hospitalization, if detected, with any symptoms connected with the flu.

Yup have to travel to Paris or Berlin most weeks atm and sadly a drivers license isn't proof enough to get past airport security!I changed my appointment to the Monday after my holiday at 830 so hopefully I'll have my passport back sooner rather than later. Not much I can do about it really.

Back with an update: I ended up posting my application for employment visa to Hayes, they posted it back to me asking for the registration documents of the charity which I got hold of and posted off again, and 2 weeks later I got my employment visa. Very happy now though it was stressful at the time! Husband and daughter both got tourist visas 6 days after their applications were posted off. Regret the effort of going all the way to Birmingham in the first place. Change in office/mission
Apologies if this is already covered somewhere in this huge thread, but I hope someone might be able to offer me some advice.
I have completed and paid for my application under the London mission as I was going to submit it to Hayes by post. Due to worries about time, I'm now going to submit it in person to Birmingham. It has let me change the sections under the appointment/payment part of the website, but the completed form still has London on the header. Is this going to be a problem? Will I have to re-do and pay for it again under Birmingham?
Thanks in advance.

I did a similar thing and the guy said that basically they cant access your form in the system if its under the london mission... he did say i would ahve to do the form again but then i didnt end up applying through b/ham so didnt have to... i'd ring b/ham and check if i were you as they dont have any internet/computer/printing facilities in their office..

So surely they have a printer? sorry if this has already been asked in this thread but was just wondering if any one knew what the citizenship/national id number is with regard to a uk citizen? is it my national insurance number or my passport number or something different entirely? thanks for the help

It is not relevant as in the UK we do not have these numbers. simply put n/a need passport back in my hands in 14 days - likelihood?
Hi all,
I have a holiday booked to portugal on the 26th this month - and due to illness/operation etc have not yet applied for my tourist visa for a trip which I am planning on going on as soon as I am back from Portugal.
So in a nutshell I have an appointment at 9am this tuesday and need passport back in my hands by 26th. I was going to do the special delievery option as i live hours from the application centre. I am UK citezen - not visited bangladesh or anywhere (only dominican republic a while back 4+ years). I need a double entry tourist visa for 4 months.
Do you think I should not panic about getting it back - or do you think I should have a plan b in place?
Thanks
Emma
