Visa Application process (from Australia)
Hey all,
Sry for stupid questions... I paid online, I take they will know this and just send in the form. They ask you to send in checklist, which has run through of costs to pay and asks you to tick which method you will be paying by. There is no mention of "paid on-line" or similar...
Help?
One other thing, two photos yep? Do I stick one on form or let them do it?
I'll have many stupid questions in the run up to departure so sry.
Bongo

I have just recieved an email saying my application has been processed... i was told minimum of 45 days due to pakistani origin and yet its only been a week since i sent the application.
is there any way i can find out if the application has been accepted or rejected... scared it may have been rejected as i was told ALL pakistani origin applicantions take a minimum of 45days... cant wait for it in the post, it is special delivery but might not get it till monday now!
any advice welcome

If you haven't worked out what to do yet.I always write paid on-line on the checklist and attach a copy of the receipt to the application.
Stick (glue) one photo to front of application in box and staple the second to the second page where you sign, this works for me and many others.....
I know this will have been answered, but I find the website so confusing and the advice contradictory at times so wanted to make sure.
I'm content I've got everything on the checklist done, I've booked my appointment at the victoria station for the 6th of June next week. Do I have to surrender my passport there or will they take a photocopy? I go on holiday the 7th (which is why I've got the 6th spare to go in to their office) so obviously I have to leave with my passport - but I think from reading its indicated I have to surrender it and then they'll send it out. I can't find a definitive answer anywhere on their site though.
Its a real nuisance, I travel for work each work so surrendering my passport for even 2-3 days is a huge inconvenience but obviously if I have to do it then I'll have to. I don't travel until the 22nd of July so Im just about in the right time frame I think...

And the Visa starts from the Date of Issue, not from the day you land in India.

Do you daily commute across international borders ? Why would you need a passport every day for work ?

He says he needs it to travel for work, not to work
Europe is a piddly little place compared with the vastness of your USA and we need to show our passports when flying, if not when driving across borders.....
Hey
I had been reading somewhere that someone was denied entry because they could not show evidence of return flight. Although I have tried to find where it was I have failed!!
I do not have a return flight sorted out before I go and was going to just get one when I felt like coming home.
Tnx All
