Any Aussies recommend a travel insurer?

Hunting the net at the moment for cheap deals for the two of us. Any advice appreciated - past experiences good and bad?

Cheers Whippet

I've used Columbus direct on previous trips, they're a lot cheaper than anyone else I've seen.
You can get a quote from their website

I second that Flight Centre advice - I took in a quote from another travel agent (the dreaded Indian one ... !!) and they matched + beat the price on it.
Not bad!

I always use Defence Health for travel insurance. They have a comprehensive policy that should save you a lot of money compared to what is offered by travel agents. I have made claims in the past without problem.

I went with Travel Insurance Direct, combination of price and cover worked for me.

Unfortunately (fortunately really) didn't get to see what their claims response was like.

www.Worldnomads.com are an Aussie-based company that I used, reasonably cheap, you can get a quote on their website, and insure expensive items individually. Highly recommended.
