AIDS And visa Did you ever hear that to make 6 months visa to India you need to provide a certificate that you have no AIDS? Surprised me. Even more hassle.

I read on the paper work from the Indian Embassy in Aust that came with for my Visa application, that if your Visa was for 12 mths or longer that you might have to show paper work that your HIV free but that was on arrival in India.

We've been through this before guys a coupl,e of years back it wasn't about AIDS but about referees for a Romanian member! Basically it works like this the embasy of your country can ask for whatever it likes before issueing a visa, what happens in other countries makes no difference! Asucka read the paperwork again carefully if you then find that the Indian Embassy in Moscow requires this proof, I suggest you find out how to obtain it! In these matters the Embassy's word is law!

Russian embassies often require AIDS testing, I suspect that the Indian embassy is trying to get even.

| There is no mention of this requirement anywhere on the website of the Indian consulate in Chicago (where I'll be getting my visa next week.) BTW, it also states that a tourist visa is good for 6 months to 10 years, with each stay not to exceed 6 months.
