6 month visa ending and want another 6 months

My 6 months Indian visa is expiring in the middle of September. I know I need to be out of India for 2 months to re-apply for another Indian visa. Does anyone know the best way to go about doing this and in what country close by it is easiest to stay for 2 months and get a new 6 months Indian visa. I have American and Israeli citizenship

Last season i met 2 different people in Goa, both on British passports who were given 6 month tourist visas in Colombo (Sri Lanka).

Then only to add, that it is often said that to get a 6-month Indian tourist visa, this is best applied for in your home country.

(Some nationalities, such as my own, don't seem to get 6 months anymore, anyway. But if it applies to you, I would suggest going home for it. Or if applying abroad, to be ready for getting one of a shorter term, say perhaps one to three months.)

Americans btw are eligible still for a 10-year Indian tourist visa, always limited to 180-day visits each, then indeed two months out inbetween. Seems like this would be handy for you. It must indeed be applied for at home, as far as I know. "Home" here would be your country of origin/country of proven residence. For this fabled extended US Indian visa, I guess it would practically mean the USA.

Note if you keep using such a visa back-to-back (re-entering on it all the time), you may always still be barred from re-entering the country. A visa is a favor granted, it doesn't entitle you to anything as such, and a tourist visa as the name might suggest wasn't designed for that purpose.

Currently the word seems to be that KTM & Bangkok are the open bets with an itinerary, etc..

Can anyone confirm if 6 months is possible from Kathmandu?

Was last season, they offer 3 months, and you push for 6 months, but that was last season.

Provide an itinerary although the recent trip reports I have seen elsewhere indicate its now routine. As always your milage may vary except in court..
