1yr Tourist Visa for Australians Available
1yr Tourist Visa for Australians Available
Hi all, not sure if someone has already mentioned this but did a quick search & couldn't find it.
I just went to Indian Consulate in Melbourne to get me new tourist visa & was offered a 1 year visa.
Very happy about that as haven't been able to get before
The lady said it only came in today.
Just thought I'd share as someone might find helpful!

Are you allowed to stay in India for more than 6 months with the visa?
I ask because the long term tourist visas normally only allow 6 months at a time, even though the visa is valid for 5 years (or is it 10?).

Putting my "Pedant of the Month" hat on, the restriction is actually 180 days, not six months.Even my current 6 month tourist visa (=183 days) is stamped "Maximum Stay 180 Days" - just in case I felt tempted to take advantage of the extra couple of days.
Hi, yeah you do still have to leave after 180. Still helps i think not having to hang around kathmandu hoping to get another 6mth visa.
i did have a bit of a panic earlier in the week though when i went to pick it up & they'd spelt my name wrong. picked it up today (fly monday) & all they'd done is cross it out in pen & write my name correctly in pen above it. someone initialed it but am hoping there's no probs with it.
