10 year visa in nepal?

i know visa questions have been asked about nepal- but i have not found a recent thread that answers my questions- so i am starting a new one...

i am in india right now- and have a 6 month visa (expires april 2005). i want to stay longer now (i had no idea i was eligble for a 10 year visa- or i would have gotten it instead). i will be up north through march and then want to head south. so while i am at varanasi i was thinking of going to kathmandu to get a new visa.

so the questions are:

will i be able to get another visa there? (another thread from 2002 said if you haven't been out of india for 6 months you cannot get another visa)

can i get a 10 year there? and is it difficult to get?

and is anyone else making this trek around that time? perhaps we can go together

I think you can only get a 10-year visa in the US.... have heard that, anyway.

I heard, Varuna-travel www.webmerchants.com/varuna/ makes long term visas, though I don't know if that long as 10 years. And I was not able to check it personally yet.

It was not the case 1,5 y. ago. But I don't know how it is now.
