I recognised...
  • various peppers
  • various pineapples
  • nutmeg, with its bright red mace surround
  • a couple of people sitting in chairs
  • bananas
  • cinnamon leaves (not sure)
  • a dragon or damsel fly
  • ...and the vanilla pods

I could not put names to most of the flowers.

Who can fill in what I missed? (apart from Haritha, who took the photos, so shouldn't be allowed to play )

jackfruit... thought I saw a jackfruit -- 1st pic in the third row? But I figured it would not be growing so close to the ground.

Betel
... the one (with two) in the palm of a hand? Must be that colour when fresh, then. More grey-brown by the time I get to see it on sale

Anglepoise Lamp the Anglepoise lamp really ought to get a mention

Let me fill in on some of what Nick and CH missed.

Nick, the two small things in the palm of a hand are not betelnuts, they most likely are ripe coffee seeds or ripe peppercorn. i wouldn't be surprised at all if they were something else. Betelnuts are is the second photo on the first row -- with their husk on.

Some of the other things that were missed:
Sappota or Chikoo -- next to the jackfruit.
Cardamom
Hibiscus or shoe flower (red one)

The leaf that Nick thought as cinnamon leaf (may be confusing for bay leaf) may actually be pepper wine.

Thanks! Fooled by lack of scale in most of those cases! I've only seen Sappota in the shops, so have no idea how it grows. I should have remembered the name of the beautiful Hibiscus flower.

Yes, comparing with the big pepper pic, I made a bad mistake ( ) with the cinnamon leaf: obviously pepper!

Vibhu Jindal, if people and anglepoise lamps qualify... ... ...

Haritha... do you have any pics of the vanilla pod growing?
