You people deserve a "Thank You"
I've learned so much from all of you people and I just wanted to say "thank you" for your help and recipes. India and it's food are close to my heart here in the U.S. How can I return the favor?

What kind of atmosphere do you want? We go to a couple "hole-in-the-wall" places that are quite authentic. Then there are some nice places but, in my opinion, are too Americanized.

Cheap yet Cheerful .... if they offered Roomali Roti I'd do a few handstands ..... close to the American Airlines Center would be very strategic!? And there are some real diamond-in-the-rough hole-in-the-walls when it comes to Indian food joints .... so have got pen & paper ready!!

Dinner is almost ready!!! Y'all (as they say in Texas) are welcome!
Restaurants in Dallas: At Taj Mahal Grocery Store, there is a little chaat cafe in the back that makes AWESOME pani puri and some other things... very authentic. In the same strip center is Zyka. Neither have great atmosphere but who cares when the food is the best. Zyka is run by a guy from Hyderabad and it's hot as hell but SO good. These are both on Beltline on the west side of 75 in Richardson. At the N.E. corner of Coit and Campbell is Masala Wok, excellent; across the street south is Pasand, also good. Coit & Beltline by Whole Foods is an excellent vegetarian place, Madras Pavillion. That'll get you started. Though it's nowhere near downtown, it's worth the drive. I find that the other places are good but more catered to white Americans. Though I'm a white American, my insides are Indian. |

I have been living in USA for the past 10 years and every time I visit my mom; she says I have lost the taste for Indian food, she has to modify the recipe so that it is mild, glad to know that you like the hot Indian food.

That would be a LONG, drawn-out dinner, huh? I would put everyone to work on a task. Would be fun though, wouldn't it... eating, talking about food, India, friend & families, etc.
