Hi Guerik
I caugth this one last week on the BBC it seemed very simple top make!!

Ingredients
300g/10oz urad dal lentils
20g/1oz vegetable oil
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
75g/3oz tomato purée
pinch salt
pinch white pepper
pinch red chilli powder
pinch garam masala
25g/1oz butter
2 tsp single cream



Method
1. Wash the lentils thoroughly then place them in a pan with plenty of water. Place over a high heat and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes until tender. Drain.
2. Heat the oil in a large pan. Add the ginger paste and garlic paste and cook for one minute.
3. Add the tomato purée and remaining spices and cook for a further 2-3 minutes.
4. Add the cooked, drained lentils and cook for 30 minutes.
5. Stir in the butter and cream and serve.

Thumbs up simple recipes please

To make simple Daal makhni (Black lentils).Wash and soak one cup full of lentils overnight. Next day rinse well.In a pressure cooker add to the lentils ,chopped onion,ginger garlic paste (1 tablespoon), garam masala (2 tspoon) 1 chopped green chilly,salt,chopped coriander,2tablespoon of tomato puree,butter 1oz.( I usually use olive oil which is more healthy), pressure cook for apx 25-30 min. Mash the lentils add cream boil for 10-15 min.. heat oil add cumin seeds,chilly powder and add to the lentils. Enjoy with some hot chapati or rice.
