Relish the flavour of Delhi 'Chaat'

Ummmm.... Visiting Delhi without letting your taste buds experience the unforgettable taste of Chaat is very unfair.... So people whenever you pay a visit to Delhi dont call it a complete visit unless you taste the yummmy Delhi Chaat from Chandini Chowk... Starting from mouth watering Golgappas, delicious Aloo Tikki to spicy Samosas... enjoy the flavour of all of them and discover the flavour of spicy Delhi...

Careful with those golgappas...they may be mouth-watering but if you buy them off the street in Chandini Chowk they may be belly-watering too, lol

A few shops in Bengali Market, near CP/Mandi House are famous for the chaat.

yeah thats correct.. Be choosy about the shops from where you plan to taste them... You can have them from some good and hygenic shops like Nathuram's, Bikaner or Haldiram's... and may be any shop you find clean and hygenic in Chandini Chowk... You can also direct the shopkeeper to add the spices as per your taste....

Nathuram's, Bikaner or Haldiram's ? neh neh i dont find golgopas tasty there, those people dont even know how to make them, and moreover when i go to these places i feel like a alien again, mostly these places are filled with families hard any young croud. I can just have the golgappa at a local shop near my house which is decent enough. Dont have them often and they will not damage your pretty stomach. By the way, its not recommended for foreigners. neh now way.

Well there is no risk or harm associated with golgappas if foreigners wish to try it...

Man I LOVE chaat. All chaat. I even now eat pani puri/gol gappa (before I never understood the texture taste sensation explosion, now I don't really understand it anyway, just know its oh-so-tasty)

that's all

Oh actually, do walking chaat tours exist in Delhi?? Problem is I find it SO filling for a snack, so think it would be ideal to combine the 2. Or perhaps I should just eat less of it

very surprising!! Everyone's speaking of Nathuram, chandni chowk, haldiram!! i always thought UPSC 's Chat (well thats how it is called) was the most famous chat, be it golgappes, or bhalla papdi etc etc.. For those who don't know, this chat shop is near by UPSC in delhi.. thats why the name.. It apparently became famous long back.. and the guy whos tarted this evolved from a small thela ( hand driven cart) to a big stall today where people actually have to take tokens and wait in queue to try the stuff!!

PS: Yes chats are spicy.. But then again if you tell the vendor to make it less spicy he'll do the same.. Those who have sensitive stomach should think twice or try the non spicy Chaat or inform the vendor in beginning iitself to make very less spicy..
