You can make very tasty spicy roast with these or plain bhaja with rice & ghee!
Jyotida ,

I am not a fish expert ( already proven ) so not sure about the source of these parshay but told by the vendor that it is a "mitha joler mach" . So may be from local bheri. Anyway the fish was quite good. What about spicy roast ?

Somnath ,

beshi hansa bhalo noy , tomaro ei din ashbaay .

Dal Panch ratna(Five Dals)

Ever tried mixing all types of Dal? Here is one which has the goodness of five types of Dals plus Spinach.
Ingredients:
Take different Dals like:
100 gms of Moong Dal ,100 gms of Channa Dal ,100 gms of Masur Dal ,100 gms of Arhar Dal ,100 gms of Urad Dal. You can change the quantity according to yuor need, just take equal amount of all the dals.
1 bunch of Spinach, washed and finely chopped
100gms Grated coconut
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1-teaspoon garlic paste
2 Tomatoes, diced
2 onions, finely chopped
1-teaspoon turmeric powder
1-teaspoon cumin powder,
1-teaspoon cardamom,
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
1 or 2 bay leaves,
Green chilies to taste, sliced
Coriander leaves
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
2 tablespoons of ghee
Salt to taste

Procedure:
Wash & soak the Urad Dal over night.
Wash clean the other Dals, mix the soaked Urad Dal and pressure cook with water, salt and turmeric powder for 7 minutes or until done.
Heat oil. Sauté thinly chopped onions, until brown.
Add ginger paste, tomatoes, garlic paste, green chilies, and cumin powder. Sauté well.
When everything is blended, add chopped spinach, turmeric powder and salt to it. Stir thoroughly.
Cover and cook till the water evaporates.
Add dal mixture to it. Mix well. Add the grated coconut.
Add cardamom and cinnamon powder to it.
When everything has blended well, and the mixture is of thick consistency, sprinkle coriander leaves and a few green chilies from top for garnishing.
Add two-table spoonful of ghee & serve hot.

Pm or post both will do ....its up to u dada..

At Bhagat Tarachand : ( following is the stuff that i intend to order)

Starters: Chaas with Khichiya ( buttermilk or Kesar lassi with Rice papad with masala and butter on it)

Main course: Jowari roti & Plain chapati with Dal tadka, Bhindi masala and onion & garlic karela.

Dessert: Rabdi along with either of Gulab Jamun or Mung-ki-dal ka halwa (gulab jamun and dal ka halwa served here are the best among the lot that i have been able to trace in Mumbai yet)

The Jowari rotis are pretty heavy stuff. Do they make Malpua also? Malpuas go very well with Rabdi. I love the Kulfis from Parsi Dairy & never miss them when I visit Mumbai.

I used to go to a place called Gomantak Maha Sangh near Grant road station. As you go out of the station on the right hand side exit facing the Marine lines direction, it used to just accross the road. A dimly lit ordianry place where the bachelor crowd from the Konkan region came to eat. Great food & very refreshing Kokum sherbet. Mahesh lunch home & Trishna are my favourite palces. Chandu Halwai is also my favourite sweet shop. Near Marine lines station there is a small family run Goan restaurant that serves very good Goan food & a Parsi dairy outlet is also nearby!
