Peanut Sauce
This is a useful sauce for Indonesian cooking - or just to pep up your veggies. I saw it on NDTV cooking show last week.
Ingredients: 1 large onion, crushed garlic and small amount of red chili depending on how you react to the latter; crushed peanuts soaked in water or 1 cup peanut butter; small amount of lemon juice; 3tbspn soy sauce; salt, sugar. Method: Brown in small amount of oil, onion, garlic, chili. Add peanut mixture plus small salt and sugar. Add lemon juice, soy sauce. If too dry add extra water. I am a lazy cook so exact quantities not specified but you could work it all out I think - on the programme they just sort of threw things in and didn't specifically give exact quantities for all items! You could use this for a fried chicken dish - could marinade chicken in salt, sugar 1tbspn, lemon juice 4-5 teaspns, chopped garlic, soy sauce 2 tbspns. ![]() |
