Cocktail : the Pondicherry Sling ?
Namaste Friends,
I am in search of a bit of cocktail trivia. The cocktail called "Singapore Sling" was invented, or at least popularized, by the famous hotel Raffles in Singapore. I just learned that the Singapore Sling was the obligatory after-cricket drink among the posh, probably white, community in Pondicherry in the 1880's. But my book implies that the recipe was somewhat different from the original. Would anyone have any information on what composed the Pondicherry version of the Singapore Sling ? Many thanks ! |
