Angry www.irctc.co.in troubles

Hello everybody.

A week ago I booked four e-ticket without any problems.
but now I cant book anymore. I tried four times and four times my credit card was charged but no ticket issued ((

error message is:
-------------
Your request for Booking cannot be processed since there was an error while booking.




The reservation as per your requested details could not be processed due to one of the following reasons

1.Communication Failure.

2.Berth Allocation could not be met.

3.Compact Accommodation Request not met.

4.Opening day booking (60 days in advance/ less than 60 days in advance for some trains) is not permitted before 08.00 A.M.

The money debited from your account will be credited to you.
For any queries,please use reference number 0073323549.

It's true that irctc site does give some trouble but even then a lot of people including me are getting our seats reserved on net through irctc only and I for one prefer it to standing in long queues where it always seems that the one in which I am standing is not moving wheres all others are.
Don't lose heart and try again.

I have not booked in the past week but in past month I have made 6 (max permitted bookings) and not the slightest problem with any of them ....I use citibank gateway.

I have successfully booked 6 tickets over the past 4 weeks. Occasionally I have found the site unresponsive. I am using an American Credit card, and used the Axis gateway with no problems. I assume you have emailed your complaint to them. Also be sure to file a dispute with your credit card company. Good luck and happy trails....

I've written to them about not being able to reprint my E-ticket, They replied the first time but not the second? I imagine they get tons of e-mail.

This bad transactions can be found under Refund Status->Failed transactions menu. Right after transaction failed the status of transaction will be set to "Requested"

The day after status changes to N/A with comment "Approved for Refund and Refund Instructions given to Bank"

31.10.08 I got money back for the bad transactions at 28.10.08

I hope this info will be a little useful for someone who got same problem.

I'm still dont know how do I book a ticket for my india trip.
I think I'll register another one irctc account and try to book a ticket with another credit card.

I'll inform of result )

Mike,

I have, today, successfully made two bookings .. thats about 8-9 now with no problems whatsoever...

One thing you might try is to clear all cookies /history from your browser before you open their site and if it is going slow at enquiry stage (as it was in Australia this morning) do not proceed with booking.

What payment gateway are you using ?

It's better to book early in the morning from Russia (at 6AM - the connection is great ) - as later irctc server is too busy. The main problem with failture during a payment is the slow/unreliable connection. As money was debited from your account - I think your card and payment gaitway is OK.

I tried to use all gates. But my credit card is accepted only by CITI and utipg.

The problem looks like not a problem of a payment gateway.
When I push a pay button, my CC charged immediately. Right after I see error message I posted above.

I use citigate too ...

Can you give me example of train /class you are trying to book and I will look.

Looking message im inclided to agree with you wichy .. it is most likely the credt card you are using .. I find mastercard better then visa if that helps.
