worth booking trips/ travel in advance?

Hi I am a newbie and am finally going to India in the spring. We are wanting to travel from Delhi to Agra and Jaipur and perhaps spend a few days in Kathmandu. Is it best to try to book stuff here over the net or should we wait and book whilst in India? and if that is the case where can we go that is trustworthy? And what sort of travel does anyone recommend? we need to travel fairly speedily between destinations to get it al in!
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I would definately book Delhi hotel/guesthouse before arriving. How much time do you have? It is pretty easy to do your arrangements without a travel agent. If you are really stuck for time you may want to go through one to hire a driver. I have managed to order my train tickets in advance (after several tries) and then just book accommodations upon arrival. Happy planning.

Dear stepmac,
As our friends term it, the Delhi-Agra-Jaipur-Delhi is ""Golden triangle for Tourists"" and all these 3 places are well inter-connected.

But, better finalise your dates and go ahead with train and hotel bookings, as per your travel plan.
