Hi,
I booked a ticket from chennai to hyderabad and got CKWL 25. I know it will not be confirmed.

I had 2 friends travelling with me. We will share. But will the TC allow ?

WL can travel in general, but dont know whether they can enter into compartments or not.

Kindly clarify.

TC mostly wont object. you have better option of confirmed ticket person is there , with whom you can share the berth. He wont object.
In fact TC wont allow if it is a waitlisted for 3AC or 2AC. But in Sleeper they wont mostly object but necessarily you need to tell the TC .
Dont worry . you can get in along with your friends.

I don't understand the question.

You have one ticket, waitlisted without expectation of confirmation, but you are three people travelling? That is what your post seems to say.

As posted above. 2 confirmed and 1 Waiting list ticket. Journey is 6PM today. So, there is no chance to get confirmed.

So, had a doubt whether the TC will allow me to share with them or not.

the chart will be prepared afer 2 pm - so check at around 2-30/3 pm , in all probability it will be upgraded to RAC. so u'll get a seat and hence no problem legally on boarding train.

The ticket may or may not make it to RAC.

But one thing's for sure, the TTE will not let you board the train with a ticket that's still waitlisted, and the other paying passengers will not be too happy to see you sharing your friends seat/berth.

The only time I ever travelled sleeper class, there was a huge problem with waitlisted passengers squeezing onto berths with friends (or strangers). The TTE periodically came through the carriage ushering them out but they gradually crept back. It made for a noisy and miserable night.

Thumbs down

ya CK is TATKAL !!
after scraping TATKAL bogies in railways which were added to the train just before the train left, now, the rule has parted the regular seats into two sections GENERAl. and TATKAL so now you can get TATKAL five days before and there is a WL too!!
CKWL never confirms

Dear Nitin,

CKWL never confirms

##I said CKWL never moves into RAC, but there are occasions, when CKWL moves into Confirmed Status, if there are cancellations/ vacancies in the Earmarked Quotas.
