What is PQWL -- PLS HELP

Hi

I am a new member here. I have my doubts about PQWL.

I have booked a E-Ticket on July 15 2009 from Madurai to Chennai

Ticket Details:

PNR No:4408939338

Train No/Name:2632/NELLAI EXPRESS

Date of Journey:09-Aug-2009

Class: 3A

Date of Booking:15-Jul-2009 07:26:17 PM

Date of Boarding:09-Aug-2009

From: MADURAI JN(MDU)

To : CHENNAI EGMORE(MS) Distance: 0497 KM

Boarding : MADURAI JN(MDU) Resv Upto: CHENNAI EGMORE(MS) Quota: General

Scheduled Departure: 21:15*

Total Fare : Rs 1630.00 Adult: 3 Child: 0

Current Status:

PQWL 12/PQWL 7/ / 0000/

PQWL 13/PQWL 8/ / 0000/

PQWL 14/PQWL 9/ / 0000/

Will My ticket get Confirmed.

Till date the status is the same, there is no change.

Many say that E-Ticket is risky, you cant board the train if its not confirmed.

Can Someone please advise me on two things.

1. Shall I hold the ticket or

2. Cancel E-ticket and book the same in I-Ticket.

Please Advise

PQWL - is Pooled Quota Waiting list.

some 3/4 quotas are pooled and subject to cancellation of tickets booked through that qouta your tkt would get confirmed.

I dont understand why you need to book by Nellai Express for journey from Madurai to Chennai.

3AC in Pandian Exps is RAC16 - chances of confirmation is there - but still RAC and you can get it.

There is one seat available in Podhigai Exps on 15th Aug in 3AC.

I would no way go by Nellai express from Madurai to Chennai.

If a waitlist e-ticket is not confirmed, refund is automatically credited to your account and hence the ticket is not valid to travel if your ticket is not confirmed (or not in RAC).

........and if an I-Ticket is opted, then it would NOT get cancelled automatically, but the same has to be cancelled across lthe PRS Counter.
