Varanasi to Darjeeling

Is it possible to get from Varanasi to Darjeeling overnight using the rail system and maybe a bus from NJP to Darjeeling? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

It would be prudent indeed to look into earlier postings which address the same question in detail. Anyway--
NDLS DBRT RJDHN *VARANASI JN 22:25 NEW JALPAIGURI 10:55 N N N Y N N Y - - - - -
Go to cleartrip or irctc and login and put varanasi as the starting point and nea jalpaiguri as the destination and book.
Otherwise start your ride from mughalsarai a satellite station of varanasi but a railway town which will give you more options to new jalpaiguri. The hill train is also bookable. Depends upon you, if you want to do the railway ride by the toy train.

Journey between Varanasi and New Jalpaiguri by Rajdhani is NOT allowed. However, if Rajadhani is to be used, the Ticket has to be booked from Varanasi to Guwahati.

Other than the 2436 Rajdhani on THURSDAYS & SUNDAYS, the following non-daily trains provide direct travel from Varanasi to New Jalpaiguri:
