Urgent- PNR status info required

When using a PNR number to check for current status I noticed the following...

2618 (MNGLA LKSDP EXP) - 25-12-2005 - MAO - ERS - 2A

All those details are correct, except the date.

The ticket is supposed to be for train 2618, for departure from Madgaon on 26th to get to Ernakulam on 27th.

The train departs Delhi on 25th before getting to Madgaon on 26th, but normally tickets for this trains departure from Madgaon would have the date that the train departs Madgaon, not Delhi.

Is the system different on the PNR status webpage?

This is quite rummy. If you give pnr number I can check on phone.

Just to add....

the 'availability' in this sector for the 2 days also seems to indicate that the ticket may be for the wrong day.

Dear Steven,
Kindly go to the ""Passenger Status"" Menu and type the PNR Number in the Boxes provided therein and you will get the Current Status. You are concerned only with the date of departure of the Train at the Boarding Point.

In any case, for 26th Dec. 2A by 2618 ex.MAO-ERS, it has already touched REGRET/20.

I've already checked the PNR status online, thats where I got the date from (25th).

Do they give the date of departure from the originating station on the PNR web page or the date of departure from the booked station as they do on paper tickets?

The ticket holder has only just been informed that they are WL/02, this also seems to make the Madgaon departure date of 25th seem more likely.

The ticket holder thinks there booked to depart Madgaon on 26th.

I just phoned 1330 which is the voice interactive service, it doesnt give the date but told me "Passanger one, waitlist 2"

@@@Quite possible and must be true because when he presented his Reservation Form and got booked his Tickets, the Status could have been WL.2/WL.2 and the same must have been informed to the Passenger by IRCTC through e-mail. (***Thereafter, the status must have touched REGRET/20).

I would normally be content that the date on the website is correct, but I'm just hoping that the website is listing the date of departure from the originating station.

I doubt the ticket holder wants to travel on Christmas day and they have no chance of a reservation for the 26th if their ticket is for the 25th.

OK, lets forget all dates, trains and waitlists.

One question....(OK, 2)

When a ticket holder checks his PNR status on the website, what date will be given for the train?

Do they give the date of departure from the originating station (on the PNR web page) or the date of departure from the boarding station?

I've just realised that I need glasses.

In the original post (other thread) I just noticed the following line.....

Date Of Journey 25/12/2005

The ticket holder has either made a typing error when they said "Should I be worried as to whehter it will be ok by 26 Dec. Thats when I travel.."
or they've somehow got booked on the wrong day.
