Urgent advice needed - Haridwar-Rishikesh trip

Hi dear members,

I needed an advice from you guys.
Our family will be visiting Haridwar and Rishikesh from next friday till sunday (3 days)
I stay in Ghaziabad and have decided to use Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi express AC Chair class for the same. We will be 3 people.

Would like to have answer of following:

1. Is AC Chair class comfortable for 4 hour journey since an old member will also be travelling ?
2. Should i board the train from Ghaziabad station or from Delhi station.
3. Where do we get down - Haridwar junction station(second last station) OR Dehradun station (last station).
4. What is the whether like these days there? Do we need warm cloths?
5. Are hotels for overnight stay easily available in Haridwar/Rishikesh?

I am planning something like this:

Friday: reach Haridwar in morning
In evening visit the holy aarthi.
Stay at night in hotel.
Saturday morning take cab to rishikesh and visit some places.
Come back in saturday evening to hotel in Haridwar.
Leave for home Sunday morning.

Does it sound OK?

1. Yes, unless elderly person has special requirements.
2. The one which is closer, provided there is enough time for the elderly person(s) to embark.
3.Haridwar
4. Dunno/probably not.
5. Yes

hi how are you..
1st--A?C chaircar is ok for 4 hrs journey.
2nd--delhi would be better.. but gaziabad is nearest the board from nearest..
3rd--get down at haridwar..
4th--weather is good but keep some warm cloths because if its rain then you can use them.. these days temp is 32 degree in day time..
5th--hotels are easily available...

I was there last weekend only. No need for any kind of warm clothes, even though it had rained a day before. In fact you'll need AC.

In my opinion, even Seniors won't need woolens/warm clothes, unless the weather has changed drastically in a week's time...
