Travelling With a Puppy from Chennai - Coimbatore

I am planning to take my 3 month old Pommerian puppy from chennai - coimbatore (Dist 497 KMs - Duration 8 hrs travel)

I Would like to know the booking procedures as things stated in their website was not clear. I Would like to know if my puppy will be placed in the GAURDs coach or in the BRAKE VAn?

Do i need to take a pet carrier with me, or would there be one inside the gaurd van, since its a 3month old puppy i fear for its safety.

If there is a dog box inside the coach would i be safe enough,

also let me know what else i need to take with me,

this is the pet carrier i have Size: 14"x8.5"x13" (LxBxH)

i would be grateful to your replies

THANKS

If 2 of you are travelling, book coupe 1AC and take the puppy with you. Don't need a carrier.

I would not leave the puppy in the brake van at all.

Browse this site. This question has been asked before, so do search.

Then I would put the puppy in the pet carrier, and travel with him first class. Some small fee is charged while travelling.

Small puppy, there should be no problem.

Yes, I think the rule that allows you to take a dog if travelling first-class requires that you book the entire compartment.

Welcome to the expensive world of having an animal .

About five years ago, I landed up with a dog on a leash, and was allowed to take him aboard provided the other passengers didn't object (First airconditioned). I was charged the same low rate they have for animals. Nothing extra

I would think for a pup in a carrier, it would be a piece of cake.

A coupe is a compartment. I think it is what they call the two-berth first-class compartment?

Its challenging for a pet owner. I am in Carmel by the Sea at the moment which specializes in being pet friendly. Please let us know the experience of your travel when you complete it. I will attempt to channel Steven to add to the notable warriers already on the challenge..
