Hello,

I am travelling to Rajasthan for the first time in November this year. I am attending a wedding in Jaipur and then plan to visit both Jodhpur and Undiapor. Is it possible to travel between these destinations by train? If so, how long are the journeys and where can I find the train timetables?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

There are n trains between Jodhpur and Udaipur.
Take a bus or a car and visit Ranakpur and Kumbalgarh on the way.

see etrain for time tables

It's very easy to organize. Your hotel will do it for you.

Thank you for you help with this.

I have found a train journey I would like to take (on etrain.info) and I was wondering if I can book this in advance or do I just turn up at the station on the day?

On etrain you can see the availability on your travel date. But that is no guarantee about the situation when you are in India.
To be sure, register by the IRCTC and buy the tickets online, see man on seat61 for the procedure.

If you don't succeed buy the tickets as soon as you are in Jaipur.
A good alternative in Rajashtan are the AC Volvo busses.

yes, there are trains between Udaipur and Jodhpur. But if you want to visit in the city then you can hire a car, and these facilities can be given by your hotel. If you go to Udaipur in November then you should see city palace of Udaipur, Lake Pichola, the garden of the maidens, lake Fateh Sagar etc. For visiting in Jodhpur there are Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum, Jaswant Thada, Clock Tower, Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park etc. you can check the train timetable on Indian Railway website.
