Travel between Darjeeling Goa flight Train bus

Hi,

Hello all, I am currently in Darjeeling, after traveling through smelly delhi and dirty varansi.

I want to get from Darjeeling to Goa WITHOUT mingeling too muc with the Indian main land and its inhabitats.

I would love to get any sugestions of how and where can I get best/quickest & CHEAPEST fare to get to goa.
root plans / airways or even places to buy a ticket would be most helpfull.

As both Darjeeling and Goa are 'on the Indian mainland' and full of it's 'inhabitants, then wouldn't you just find a ticket back to Hungary to be the best thing?

@@@It is just impossible to get all the above three components in one one mode of journey from out of TRAIN/BUS/AIR.

@@@In other words, if you want Quickest, it has to be by AIR only which is costly affair, particularly at short notice.

@@@Likewise, at a very short notice, it is very difficult to get accomodation in the Trains.

@@@Bus Journey is ruled out since the road distance from Darjeeling to Goa would be in the range of 600+2000+500 = 3100 Kms.

But if you want to save money, then please come down to New Jalpaiguri Station which is 4 hours (**approx) away from Darjeeling, and then take the following train to reach Bombay:

@@@The journey by train from New Jalpaiguri to Dadar is coming to 43 Hrs.30 minutes to cover 2340 Kms. and slightly less in the oither train. Again from Bombay, you have to take the train to Goa next day morning and you will be in Goa by evening.

So, from Darjeeling, you kindly proceed to Bagdogra Airport, from where you will get a flight to Calcutta; from Calcutta you please move to Bombay by Flight; from Bombay to Goa, you take another Flight.

Thank you all answerers, I am sory for those who got angry (shame for you), as for smell - one can not argue with evidence (nobody argued that smell is great and the cities are clean...)

anyhow thanks for the serious reply about getting arround, I will take the advise and fly atleast to short my inconvinience in the train.
