travel agent in palolem( or anywhere is GOA)

I am getting increasingly confused with booking train tickets online.I thought that a better way forward might be to go to a travle agent in goa who coud do it all for me . My first stop is palolem, does anyone know anyone know travel agent there , who would be able to book train tickets ?

thanks

Yes there are travel agents in Palolem. I guess it depends on where your going, but for just leaving Goa, I would go to Canacona Station by Palolem and buy my ticket there. A few days in advance of course.

There are restrictions on what tickets you can buy at Canacona and the station is not always staffed. If you are buying long haul interstate tickets you need to purchase them from a travel agent in Palolem or go to Margao. All the travel agents purchase their tickets from Margao. There is a very good and efficent travel agent just before the bus stand when you come into Palolem on your left hand side next to Shafi's Handcrafts.

All I know is That I bought my ticket to Mumbai from Canacona Station. It should also be much cheaper to buy from Margao instead of Palolem. But of course you have to pay to get there, so....
But try Canacona first.

Availability should be your main concern, trains on the Konkan railway are very, very busy this year.

Click on the following website then follow the instructions.

http://www.indianrail.gov.in/src_dest_trns.html

Enter Source Station Code : Cancona = CNO, Madgaon = MAO, Karwar = KAWR

Enter Destination Station Code : CSTM

Enter Class : All Class

Then click 'get it'

Then choose the train you want, then choose the class you want, then click on 'Get Availability'.

In Canacona you can only get reservations for the trains that stop there!! Mainly Trains to Mumbai, Gujerat, Karnataka and Kerala. It also has a very small quota on all these trains.

The travel agent can purchase the tickets for you but he is also subject to the rules of availability and without your passport CAN'T buy tickets on the foreign tourist quota.
