Chittaurgarh - Ajmer/Jaipur. (These trains do not go to Bundi)

Trains 9770 & 582A will have been travelling for 24 hours before reaching Chittaurgarh, so may be late, trains 9616 & 4744 start from Chittaurgarh.

I am really not sure about trains 9616 & 9615, before this gauge conversion work started this train was re-routed to avoid Jaipur, now it seems to call at Jaipur, I also checked availability, reservations are being suspended from 6th March, but only in the Chittaurgarh to Jaipur direction.

Train 9770 departs Chittaurgarh daily at 06:15 and gets to Ajmer at 10:45, then Jaipur at 14:15.

2A = Rs 488 to Ajmer, Rs 649 to Jaipur.
SL = Rs 121 to Ajmer, Rs 160 to Jaipur.

Train 9616 departs Chittaurgarh daily at 21:45 and gets to Jaipur at 04:55. (& Delhi at 12:50)

1A = Rs 1246
2A = Rs 662
FC = Rs 481
SL = Rs 163

Train 582A departs Chittaurgarh daily at 13:45 and gets to Ajmer at 19:00.

FC = Rs 266.
SL = Rs 80.

Train 4744 departs Chittaurgarh daily at 15:25 and gets to Ajmer at 21:10. (& Delhi at 07:05 the following morning)

1A = Rs 849
2A = Rs 491
FC = Rs 266
SL = Rs 80

Jaipur/Ajmer - Chittaurgarh.

Train 9615 departs Jaipur daily at 20:40, then Ajmer at 00:30 and gets to Chittaurgarh at 05:20. (1A, 2A, FC, SL.)

Train 9769 departs Jaipur daily at 12:00, then Ajmer at 15:25 and gets to Chittaurgarh at 19:32. (2A, SL.)

Train 4743 departs Ajmer daily at 07:50, and gets to Chittaurgarh at 12:45. (1A, 2A, FC, SL.)

Train 581 departs Ajmer daily at 05:40, and gets to Chittaurgarh at 12:05. (FC, SL.)

Just a reminder, still no trains between Chittaurgarh & Udaipur.

It is just imposable to get info about this, I have many 'google alerts' telling me whenever there is news of trains in this region, but still nothing, and sadly, there is nobody I can ask.

Anyone know someone in Udaipur who could find out?

I have got a feeling there are still trains from Udaipur to Marwar (that connects with a train to Jodhpur) but have no way of confirming this.

The only info I received from Indian Railway websites was telling me there were no trains to Marwar, but now Indian Railways has announced a summer special to Marwar, go figure.

I will post any info I receive onto this thread as soon as I get it.

Steve,

Read in the paper yesterday that the track work is complete and goods traffic will commence in a couple of days. After a few days, the track will be inspected again and, if found suitable, will be approved for passenger trains.

No date has been set for the passenger trains though

Thanks for the info.

That’s a great system for testing the track, though I wouldn't like to be the engine driver of the freight train.

How frequently do the buses run between Chittaurgarh to Udaipur? Any ideas of the timetable... we're looking of getting to Ch in the early morning after a night train from Jaipur.

Also any ideas of bus frequency to Jodhpur from ex Udaipur? I think I saw a post about a train link from Abu Road to Jodhpur as an alternative to the bus / car ex Udaipur. Is Abu Rd far from Udaipur?

You will find a bus from udaipur to Chittaurgarh every half an our, but luxury class buses leave early in the morning.

Abu road is 105 kms from udaipur.

Ya the luxury buses leave early morning. But if luxury is not a concern, you will find buses all day long

Spitze... ta.

Its not so much the matter of luxury, but if the train isn't going to Udaipur when we go, then Chitt.. will be the stop at 5am-something. Didn't want to waste too much time hanging around for a connection.

There never have been trains between Udaipur and Jodhpur because the Arravallis stand between the two cities. You must have read about the temporary stoppage between Udaipur and Chittor and subsequent resumption of services.

Dear npjai,
Your observation:-
""There never have been trains between Udaipur and Jodhpur.....""
-----------
@@@But a BG Train between Jodhpur and Udaipur in the shortest route will be a reality, if the Mavli Jn.-Marwar Jn. MG Line is converted into BG and this will be converted in future, because of Uni-Gauge Policy.

It seems the trains between Udaipur and Chittaurgarh will be running from 20th August.

There will be a minimum of one overnight train from Udaipur to Delhi, one overnight train from Udaipur to Jaipur and a passenger daytime train from Udaipur to Chittaurgarh.

All trains will run in both directions and will be daily.

I have details of the overnight trains somewhere, just ask if you need them.
