Looking for a train to Puri? Will be in and around Agra, can someone give me a the name of the best train or its number.

You could try the 8478 or 8508 from Agra Cantt to Bhubaneswar and then catch a local train, taxi or bus. Its a long journey though.

reasonable stopovers between delhi and puri, are kolkata, jhansi (for orcha and/or khajuraho) or even varanasi.

it wont be so long a journey if you break midway at varanasi/jhansi for a couple of days.

The fastest train to Bhubneshwar from Delhi is the Rajdhani.
Worst is Kaliga Utkal which takes more than 40 hours.

i know about the kalinga utkal express. in fact i had cancelled my rajdhani ticket and booked kalinga utkal from delhi to bhubaneswar to save some some money !! the lowdown on the kalinga utkal express is that it makes the jourjey from delhi to bhubaneswar via virtually the whole of india !!

I am not aware of the urgency in which you wanted to proceed DIRECTLY TO PURI FROM AGRA. Hence I am NOT suggesting any diversions for your journey such as Varanasi, Jhansi etc.

Had you furnished the approximate date of departure from Agra, our job of advising you would have been easy.:-)

Please note there is no 8508 on Saturdays.

You can take 2616 GT Express from Agra Cantt. to Bhopal on Saturday, if you have to catch 8474 in Bhopal on Sunday. Please have a look at its schedule:
