Trains getting slower
In this modern world, everything moving with pace. But Indian Railways getting slower.E.g.- 2431 Trivandrum - Nizamuddin Rajdhani leaves Trivandrum at 19-15 and reaches Panvel at 22-55. Earlier this train reached Panvel at 18-55.There is increase of 4 hrs in running time between Trivandrum and Panvel. What could be the reason? Trains running through Bengal only will be made faster or what? Mamataji, what is on?

Trains running through the Konkan region are slowed down during the monsoon season, this is because of previous landslides.
The monsoon timetable ends on 31st October. |

Trains running through Konkan Railway (KR) follow monsoon timetable during the monsoon months. The monsoon timetable comes into effect from 10th June and is in force upto 31st October. Operations revert to norml time-table w.e.f. 1st November.
The monsoon time-table is published in the timetables as well. See Table 26-1 and 26-1A in Trains at a Glance |
