Trains from Delhi to Rajhastan
Hi there,
We are arrving in delhi on the 10th of December and plan to go to Rajhastan for 10 days and then head down to kerela for 3 weeks. So far I haven't booked anything aside from UK return to Delhi and a flight back from Kerela to Delhi just before we head back to the UK. Would anyone recommend booking our train into Rajhastan and around Rajhastan before we go, and our connecting flights from Rajastan to Kerela. We have a hotel booked in Delhi for our arrival but again we haven't booked any hotels for the trip yet. is it generally easy to phone ahead and book as you go along. Are hotels happy to book your next hotel for you? I am taking my mobile phone. Thanks, Emily |

Hi
you don't have to book hotels etc. You are in India. Just go where you want and everything is possible. You will get a hotel, busses, trains..... I did India (HP, UP, Raj, Gujarat) one month in the pre-monsoon time and i had no problems. Everyone wants to help you.
Have a good time and enjoy the coolness. CU felix |

You can book your train ahead of time over the internet and have the tickets delivered to your hotel. We did this to avoid staying in Delhi for longer than we may want. The website was a bit difficult at first, but there are plenty of threads to help you through it. You can also look ahead and see how busy the trains are. This may help you decide as to booking the train ahead of time.

Best to get to Jaipur , the State Capital by Shatabdi Express. From there, there are several buses to all parts of the state from the Sindhi Park Bus Stand- The main long distance bus stand in the town.

Shatabdi Express, Delhi-Jaipur
I booked India Rail tickets over the internet, four months to two weeks in advance. Some were delivered to my hotel. Others I picked up at the India Rail office just down the street from the main railway station. All bookings were easy; all tickets were exactly what I'd asked for.

Dear pootling,
In so far as Delhi-Rajasthan is concerned, it can be manageable within a short notice. ----------- @@@Since you have already booked your ticket from Kerala to U>K>, you have to invariably visit Kerala. --------- @@@From Jaiopur there is a Air Sahara Flight to Hyderabad which connects the Hyderabad-Kochi Air Sahara Flight. The entire journey will cost you about 4 Hours. Except this, there is no other good connections - by air- from Rajasthan to Kerala. (**I already gave this advice to somebody in the recent past) =========== V.Srinivasa Prasad 30.11.2005/14.25 hrs. |
