Excellent! A very useful resource.
Dipyaman could I request that you post full links rather than shortened ones in future. There is no need for shortened links here and we like people to be able to see at a glance what they are clicking on.
In this case the first two links are to mediafire.com hosting site, and the third is to TAAG on the IR site.

thanks for sharing...
interesting the change management system in IR is as bad as what we have in our company. case in point:
http://www.indianrailways.gov.in/rai...eservation.pdf indicates
===
How many days in advance can I reserve my ticket?
You can reserve your ticket 90 days in advance
===
Considering this book is for Jul2012 to Jun2013, one would have expected this to reflect the current 120 day period.

Dipyaman'da once again you did a great job for us. It's always to have a offline copy. Thanks again for the trains at glance like all these years.

I have a query on the railways. Don't know though whether to post it in this thread. Anyway.
Some train numbers start with the numeric 0. These trains appear to be temporary ones, and are inevitably withdrawn after some time. Not sure though. Hope somebody clarifies.
Thanks.

Mostly the trains that start with 0 are special trains run during festivals or peak season.
Kedar Janani Devasthan, Mt Abu - Udaipur, Bharatpur, Agra, Gwalior, Orchha, Jhansi

Thanks for that aarosh.
Specifically though, I was referring to the 04034 Udhampur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Superfast Special which seems to have been recently discontinued. Instead, the railway time-table mentions about a new train having been introduced with specific number assigned being 22402, though booking doesn't seem to have opened as yet. And apparently both these trains run on the same route, viz. both terminate at Delhi Sarai Rohilla station. Any idea about this one.
Thanks.

Still waiting for an answer.......
Just discovered this post and the forum. Trains at a Glance, great to have this as PDF! We are planning to visit India from 27th April to the beginning of June 2003.
Looks like this information is still valid during that time. But is it still useful then, many changes, like time tables, routes likely or is the data reliable?
Does anyone know?

congrats on purchasing the time machine for the india trip
most of the info would be still reliable. usually there are minor changes across many trains (like adding/removing minor halts, changing stop time at minor halts) or major changes to very few trains. however, it would be good to check your specific train related changes about 2 weeks before travel.
Thanks for your reply, paramiyer. So, we can then use Trains at a Glance to make general planning ... and will check the details again when the time has come ... in the future ;-)
Oh, btw, guess it would be a good idea to also check trains online while we are travelling through India ... is there some information, threads in this forum about accessing the internet via mobile, the cheapest prepaid or whatever way to get connected while travelling? We are not from India, don't know anything yet about how telecommunication works in India, companies, prepaid mobile/web ... using smartphone, would it be usuable? How about connectivity?
Different subject then this thread, I know, so can you point me to some resources or related thread(s) maybe?
